Moving On From The Front

It is too early, even
for a cup of coffee,
a slice of toast,
... a touch of patience.
There is no turning back now.

Who
am
I
to
trust?

When the damage
has been done,
it is important to move
on from the Home Front.
I have been at war.

I used to
have the
patience
like a man
of wisdom;
The hope of a miracle.

Oh, I have been at war; even
Many times before.
My lover turns
opponent.
Opponent turns
whore.

  1. An interesting poem, with many true aspects to it. I truly liked the second stanza of the poem. Though the last two lines ("My lover turns opponent. Opponent turns whore") seem to have a bitter ring to it, which kind of saddens the uplifting theme of the rest of the poem. But thats just my opinion. Overall, good job though. And I like the picture you chose for this piece.

  2. Mmmm, I truly like this. Especially the last two lines because it leaves us, the reader, with a different feeling at the end then the beginning which allows me to think about it more than usual...if you know what I mean. And I understand what you are expressing here :) Awesome job my baby! <33
