I Know You

I know you.
Why are you staring at me?
You distract my train of thought.
When you can’t train yourself to learn something, do you run away from it?
I do.

I know you
You are loyal,
You are as sweet as
the grapes on the vine that makes wine.
You do not run away from
something you can’t learn,
How could that be true?
If I am just like you?

Anyways, I still know you.
You’re the dove that I have released,
And returned to me with the greatest haste.
I can taste the sweet wine because your words are divine,
And that is what chokes my weakened neck.
‘Tis not the vine, anymore.

I know you
As your damp sorrowing overwhelms thy shoulders.
“I need to find myself,” you explain.
Well, you’ll never find it.
And neither will I…
But-
I still know you.

I know you.
I know your eyes cling to the responsibility of being the keeper of my heart-
To cause the spontaneous combustion of
the love that you have given me.
Your drink is not as sour as the apple in the tree,
For the garden of Eden is not as pretty as the eyes that I see.
‘Tis true. I promise you.
Do you know yourself?
Do you know you
As much as I do?
